Late M Subair Kunju(1931-2000) born in Azhicode, near Trivandrum, Kerala was a full-time social worker helping others irrespective of caste, religion, politics and social status. Subair Kunju foundation formed as a Trivandrum-based (Kerala, India) charitable trust by his family members on the day of his first death anniversary, the 17th June 2001. The trust is governed by a board of managing trustees and a board of associate trustees. The managing trustees are life-time members and associate trust members assigned for a particular period of time as per the terms and conditions of the trust deed. Currently, Dr. Abdul Azeez Subair Kunju is the Chairman.
The trust is functioning as a charitable organization with a view to continue the humanitarian activities of late Mr. Subair Kunju. A ‘Subair Kunju Memorial Committee’ was formed in 2001 itself with the initiative from the trust by inducting members from relatives, friends, and interested people from different fields
Since the formation, the trust has been engaged in various activities like free medical camps, health-related awareness classes, publishing and distributing books/leaflets on various diseases, helping the students from the poorest people of the native place of Late M. Subair Kunju. The foundation functions as a Non-communal Trust and as a secular organization and is committed to work for patriotism, communal harmony, and national integrity.
Since 2003, our area of activity extended to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We have a record of various humanitarian activities in the Kingdom. Our current leading activity, the Riyadh Initiative against Substance Abuse (RISA) campaign started in KSA in the year 2012 with a dedicated 17 member team and it has been recognized by the National Committee for Narcotics Control, KSA since March 2013.
