Vibrant interaction of students with Rishiraj Singh IPS
Students of various International Indian schools had a vibrant interaction with Mr. Rishiraj Singh IPS at a function held at Appolo Dimora Auditorium on Saturday. A number of students with their parents attended the three hour long session. The program was organized jointly by the Riyadh initiative against substance abuse (RISA) team and the world Malayalee council (WMC), Riyadh chapter. In the first half, various aspects of substance abuse and early detection and prevention were discussed. Before concluding the session, all the audience took the RISA pledge against substance abuse. In the second half, students were given guidance to prepare for civil service examination in India. He answered the queries of parents and students in a simple impressive way.
Mr. Singh also inaugurated the official website of Subair Kunju Foundation (www.skfoundation.online), a Trivandrum-based (Kerala, India) public charitable trust under the patronage of which RISA started functioning. The foundation chairman and the RISA convener, Dr. Abdul Azeez Subair Kunju stated that with the introduction of new website, RISA volunteer registration, Training of Trainer (TOT) registration for both students and the general community are made available online. RISA’s multilingual brochures and other training materials are also available for easy reference.
Many prominent figures from various fields including Dr. K Rahmathullah (Principal Al Yasmin School), Ashraf Vadakkevila (NRK Forum), Ibrahim Subhan (energy forum), Abdul Hakkim, Salim Palliyil, Jayan Kodungalloor and Shamnad Karunagapalli (Media) were among those who attended the function.
The program started with a silent prayer. Dr. Bharathan A.V, the RISA consultant in his introductory speech, explained the RISA activities and said that this is the 92nd program of RISA. Dr. Jayachandran, the president of WMC briefed the various WMC activities in Riyadh. Dr. Abdul Azeez Subair Kunju welcomed the gathering and Nijas, the vice chairman of WMC delivered the vote of thanks. A team of RISA and WMC Riyadh members including the WMC Chairman Mr. David Luke, Jayakumar ,Thomas, Unnikrishnan, Nisar Kallara, Navas Chunaad, Abdul Kareem Muthuvattil, Abdul Rasheed Bapati, Adv. Aneer Babu, Jafar Thangal, Dr. Thampi Velappan and members of art and craft wing of Subair Kunju Foundation family forum (Creative Minds, Riyadh) were actively involved in organizing and conducting the event. Mrs. Hamani anchored the event.
